CHIANG MAI – Recently, Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited, represented by Mr. Kridhakorn Sirabhabhoj, Senior Director - Marketing Communications (center), joined with the Peace of Life Foundation, represented by Mrs. Anutra Sawadsri, President (3rd from left), to organize the charity walk and run event Bangkok Airways Lanna Marathon 2018 presents Run Hero Run Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn royal cup with the objective of raising funds to purchase ballistic vests for soldiers, police and authorities active in the 3 southernmost Thai provinces. The event took place at the 700th Anniversary Stadium and had Mr. Wirul Phantewi, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai (4th from left), chairing the opening ceremony with over 6,000 Thai and international runners participating.
Mr. Kridhakorn Sirabhabhoj, Senior Director - Marketing Communications of Bangkok Airways, said “Bangkok Airways Lanna Marathon 2018 presents Run Hero Run is the seventh and final program of the Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2018 and was organized to promote tourism and sports in Chiang Mai and allowed runners the opportunity to experience a unique perspective of Lanna culture and most beautiful scenery while also featuring Bangkok Airways’ signature boutique touches. A highlight of the event was that it was the first to be organized in conjunction with Peace of Life Foundation, which allowed participants to also contribute aid and care to authorities working in the 3 southernmost provinces. The airline also adding 100,000 baht to the ballistic vest fund for authorities in the 3 southernmost provinces”.
Bangkok Airways also took the opportunity to give back to the society, handing out 55 pairs of sneakers to students of Suksasongkhro Chiang Mai School and the Chiang Mai Provincial Youth Center under the “Shoes for Kids” campaign. The campaign has launched online via www.teelakow.com, giving the opportunity for runners to take part to donate a pair of shoes to kids living in the province where the running races take place.
Mrs. Anutra Sawadsri, President of Peace of Life Foundation said “the foundation joined hands with Bangkok Airways for this charity walk and run event in Chiang Mai for the first time as it is an opportunity to promote our fundraising effort. All proceeds from the event will be used to purchase ballistic vests for soldiers, police and authorities active in the southernmost provinces”.
Bangkok Airways Lanna Marathon 2018 presents Run Hero Run is the last of 7 programs organized as part of the Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2018, which took place in the 7 Bangkok Airways destinations of Trad, Krabi, Koh Samui, Lampang, Phuket, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai through 2018.
