Koh Samui / 5 June 2022 – Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited led by Mrs. Ariya Prasarttong-Osoth, Board Director and Chairman - CSR Working Committee (6th from left), organized the “Samui Half-Marathon,” the first running event of “Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2022.” The opening ceremony was held at Samui International Stadium and joined many distinguished guests, including Mr. Suttipong Klaiudom, Deputy Governor of Surat Thani (7th from left), Mr. Chayapon Intarasupa, Mayor of Koh Samui
(6th from right), Mr. Ramnet Jaikwang Mayor of Koh Samui (5th from right), Mr. Pakorn Kanchanaopas, Deputy Mayor of Koh Samui (3rd from left), Miss Supinya Srithongkul Deputy Mayor of Koh Samui (3rd from left), Mr. Ratchaporn Poolsawat, Chairmain of Koh Samui Tourism Association (4th from right), Mrs. Supakan Yodchun, Director of the Samui office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (5th from left), and Dr. Aroon Kijmahatrakul, Director – Bangkok Hospital Samui (4h from left). The event was held under health and hygiene requirements which required all participants to present a negative ATK test before entering the event.
The “Samui Half-Marathon” was organized to promote sports tourism on Koh Samui. The tournament was divided into three categories: Fun Run 5 kilometers, Mini-Marathon 10 kilometers, and Half-Marathon 21 kilometers. Participated runners not only had an opportunity to experience Koh Samui through well-designed running tracks, which allowed runners to enjoy the beauty of local living and unique views of nature along the way, they also were delighted to own exclusive-designed running shirts, medals and trophies by a famous graphic designer – Painterball who perfectly showcased Bangkok Airways pilot character and incorporated some of the key features of Koh Samui such as coconut trees, diving activity, and a school of fish into the design.
The remaining tournaments of Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2022 are; The Lampang Half-Marathon, scheduled to take place on 10 July. The Trat Half-Marathon, scheduled to take place on 14 August, the Phang-Nga Half-Marathon, scheduled to take place on 11 September, and the Sukhothai Half-Marathon, scheduled to take place on 9 October 2022.
